Meet Me!

Hello! I’m Kate, aka roamingmom, a travel obsessed lifestyle blogger and Queen of my all boy tribe.

I’m a Canadian expat who left home 16 years ago and never looked back! I love expat life for the adventure, the people, the diversity, and the challenge of being “away from home”.

Hang around and you’ll learn loads about me pretty quickly.  Here’s the cheat sheet version…

  • Travel.
  • Writing.
  • My husband and our Rambunctious Boys.
  • Tennis
  • My friends, especially my Chicas.

  •  Photography.
  • Yoga.
  • Books.

  • To Be Fit.
  • To Speak Spanish.
  • To Eat Well.
  • To Always Be Kind.

The Backstory…

I was born in Toronto, Canada to great parents who never travelled.

Sixteen years ago, my husband came up with the grand idea to move to The Bahamas. So we did. In fact, we moved to Grand Bahama Island with our new baby, Aiden, and our geriatric dog, Kob.

Island life was just as you might expect – Paradise. As long as you never went to the grocery store or sat through a hurricane.

We bought a house. We renovated said house. We had a couple of more babies. Our fur boy passed on. Good friends were made. Roots were laid. A decade flew by.

After more than 10 years of Island bliss – we decide on a “gap year” to Europe. Spain was the logical choice for the language, climate, food and vino…por supuesto (of course!)

The “gap year” is going on 6 years.  We’ve had more than a few hiccups…. but it’s all part of the adventure. And man, it’s been a helluva ride, so far.

I’m hooked on España – the culture, the peeps, and the geography. Not the f@cking paperwork but que sera sera.

Thanks for being here. Life is a journey of perfect imperfections. Let’s take it together.

Love, Kate
